Allies begin Bombing al-Qa'ida Bases and Targets in Kabul

The Northern Alliance said it took control of the route through the western Baghlan province Monday night when 40 commanders and 1,200 fighters allied with the Taliban defected.

LOL and when the Taliban is overthrown then the real civil war for Afghanistan will start because the Northern Alliance wont be able to control the stronger tribes that have defected.
Only a fool would trust people who's loyalty is so easily swayed.

The "reconstruction" will be interesting. The Afghans are still tribes. They neither have nor want a sense of nationalism.

personally I think they havent had much of a chance to do anything but survive hopefully someday they will find stability and peace.

For example, Aziz had blocked plans by Musharraf to prevent abuse of the country's blasphemy laws, which make it a crime to insult Islam. The charge, punishable by death, has been applied against non-Muslim minorities for years.

What are they so worried about? That their follwers may actually hear the truth. If Islam is the truth then it shouldn't have anything to worry about. Right??
