Funny work anecdotes
I work at a GM dealership. One day,i was helping the service department out, and giving a customer a ride to work while we fixed her car.
On the way, we were chatting about cars etc. She told me that we were fixing her car's traction control. She said that she saw the light come on. So she phoned in to see what was up. The service writer told her that her traction control was not working and she should bring it in so that it would work again, and it would be free as it was still under warranty
I asked her more about it,as I was trying to make small talk to pass her time till I got her to work. And it came up that she took the car in the very next day, insisting that it be fixed immediatley!!
She was driving 15 to 20 kilometers an hour, and slower around corners!! She thought that the traction control was what actually kept the car on the road! Her old car was a 82 Olds 98, a HUGE car and not known for it's handling qualities!! So, when she got this new Grand Am GT, she thought that the reason it handled so much better was because of the traction control!
Hehe, it took me the rest of the trip to explain what traction control actually is, and how it is useful, but what it cannot do. And to explain why her new car handles so much better than her old one. Nice lady tho...
