DAAAAAAAAAMN YOOOOOOOOOUUUU!!! That's a sweet car. I WANT IT. So, feel like a trip down to T.O. so I can take it for a spin? What is it, a 320 or 325?

Lizzy, your picture is an M5. Much nicer than the Rock's, but also about three times the price. If I had absolutely unlimited money to spend on a car, that would be the one I'd get, no question.

So, are you gonna install Xenon headlights and the abso-****in-lutely cool parking lights Hella offers?

Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

                    Impact:

I will install a few toys when I pay this off (in 6 long years). I will get a nice set of rims after this winter (those are only crappy wheel caps, albeit nice looking ones). I would have liked the Xenons, but they were an $800 option, and I would have had to order another car: this one was sitting in the dealers parking lot (BIG incentive).

                    Liz:

Your dreamboat is the M3 or M5 (my next long-term goal). Costs double mine, and the horsepower is more than double. The M3 is one sweet suicide machine. If your gonna die, might as well die at 100+mph.

                    ALPBM:

I sprayed out the license plate "just in case".

I forgot to mention the stats: it's a 2002 BMW 320i (lowest of the low end for BMW). The only options I got with it were automatic step-tronic transmission, metallic paint, and sunroof. The final price was slightly over $45,000CDN ($7000 in Canadian taxes). I swear someday I'm defecting to the USA.

I am LOVING this machine. It has so many freaky little touches, like when I accelerate to a certain level, the stereo volume automagically goes up to compensate for the extra engine noise. At first, I thought the stereo was screwed until I read the owners manual. These things are more affordable than most people think. When I first started car shopping, I was going to buy a VW Jetta.

P.S. Thanks for the nice words.

AAAcccckk! You put an automatic in it? What's wrong with you man? You paid more money for them to take out the best transmission on the planet (except for the new M3's optional sequential box of course)? That's it, I'm coming to pick up the keys from you.

Just kidding of course. Your car with an automatic is still better than any US car with a manual. You'll have to learn to drive a stick before you get your M3 though...

                            agallag:

I didn't chose the stick for several reasons:

                            1) I haven't driven ANY car in 3 years, and the last time I drove before I bought the bimmer was in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia. Not much traffic down there. Here in Ottawa, the traffic is MUCH thicker and MUCH faster. I found that intimidating enough; since I don't drive a stick (never have), that would be too much.

                            2) Sticks SUCK. Too much hassle, man. City driving with a stick is too much work. All you friggin DO is shift.

By the time I buy an M3, there will be clutchless trannies. If I'm not mistaken, the newest M3 has an option for a 6-speed clutchless transmission with the down/up shift buttons on the steering wheel. F1 fantasies anyone?

IS300 already has the down/up shift on the steering wheel.....

I know some with the IS300s, they barely use them, say they'd rather have horn buttons instead....it would come in more handy.

I still prefer manuals, but I'm among a dying breed here....
