Thats funny Liz, because a few of the guys with Mustangs at work say they beat out the 3000s. These Mustangs were all GT or higher, maybe you went against standard.

Haha, I remember being in a '92 Honda and beating a '95 GT Mustang.....ran gaining on it rapidly going uphill....hahahahaha.
Not to mention the Honda had about an extra 2-300 lbs. of Dynomat and stereo in it.
Also not to mention......ummmm....err...had $6000 worth of JG Engine Dynamics work done to it.....shhhhhhhhh....

Oh, and not to mention the traction issue with Mustangs....it's a muscle car, not a sports car. I know a good 5 people who've been in wrecks in their Mustangs....all running off the road, because the car can't handle worth a crap. I know many more people who drive much more aggressively with other cars who haven't run off the road once.
Yeah, so it's not a scientific study, but I'm superstitious enough to never go fast in a Mustang anyways....

so so right , the 3000 is much better in that department
I once had a Mustang 5.0 my junior year at highschool. I was driving to work and i was on a bridge, and the cop car in front of me braked and started sliding alittle. that completely freaked me out, so i hit the brakes without thinking. the car started doin very fast doughnuts and i ended up stopping in the middle after slamming into the bridge 7 different times. i thank my lucky stars i'm here anyway.
That turned me off of Mustangs all together, plus.. i just think they are crap these days.

Mercedes C240...
BMW 325i...
Lexus IS300...
Subaru WRX...
I don't care, I'd take any of them if I got the chance. I don't care if I can't beat a Mustang from 0-60 or in the corner mile, I like good cornering, comfort and a slick ride. Although some US cars may ride better, nothing beats a BMW, Mercedes or Lexus in style points!

How come you all "over there" like Lexus so much, It's just a Toyota with a higher price, with ofcourse a few minor changes.
How can you pick a Lexus when you can get:
BMW
Mercedes
Volvo
Audi
All of them in the same pricerange with real european quality. The 6-cylinder BMW engines are wonderful and equally good are the 5-cylinder turbocharged engines from Volvo. You do not find engines like that in a Lexus.

Lexus makes some nice rides. Equally what's available "over here" is generally quite a bit different than what's available "over there." Japan makes some mighty fine automobiles, unfortunately many of them aren't brought to the US. From what I understand they are also having problems breaking into the European market, I would say mainly because of the loyalty of Europeans to European cars. Not a complaint, just an observation, one that I think is justified. I think there are many fine European automobiles....unfortunately again, they are better in Europe than they are in the US.
Even the US cars are better in Europe than in the US....which is, of course, not saying a whole lot.
Then again, in the US I can acquire a quality Japanese automobile for far less than any European car. While the European cars may be of higher quality, may have more power, ride better, and be more fun to drive....they aren't as much fun to pay for....and many of the Japanese cars are of high quality.
Japan also makes some rather amusing cars....although most of them tend to stay in Asia.

Johhny Ray;
You have taste, my man; that is one sweet automobile. I just have to stop making up excuses to go for long drives.I sure wish I had got the Xenons. I'm scared to ask what they'll cost if I want them put in after-the-fact. I'm kicking myself for not getting them, but I got impatient, and that car was on the lot calling to me. :
I wouldn't crap on a Mustang. A guy I work with at the RCMP goes on and on about his, and I just laugh to myself and keep my yap shut. The poor old fool just doesn't get it. Once you drive a BMW, there's no going back to American garbage like the Stang.I keep telling him that if he ever want a ride in my car, I'm covering whatever seat he sits in with paper towels since I don't want his dirty American-driving butt touching my fine European seats.

Hey Bart,
Ain't they great? Maybe you'll appreciate how I got my "pimped out" 330i.
I had been looking around for a long time, and finally decided what I wanted - basically a stripped down 330i with a stick and the sports package. Liked the Audi's too, but for me, rear wheel is the only way to go. I had finally decided on the color, and just wanted to see one in the color I wanted....steel blue metallic. My plan was to make sure I liked they way it looked, then order it online. Found one at a dealer (isn't on-line inventory great?) and went to check it out. I had VERY long unruly hair, scruffy beard, etc., so I figured I'd be able to get a peak at it before the dealer kicked me off the lot for being a homeless dude looking for spare change in the ashtrays. Surprisingly the dealer approached very politely, and asked me if I wanted to take it for a test drive. Against all my friends' good advice ("whatever you do, DON'T testdrive one), I did, and couldn't believe it. As you know, the BMW dealers don't like to deal. He asked if I'd like to drive it home. I said, well, it's not really what I wanted because I didn't want to pay for extras I didn't want. He asked how much I'd pay. I basically subtracted the cost of the Xenons, leather, fold-down seat, and electric seats, and said that was it. I couldn't believe when he said okay. How's this for the final humor: I drove it off the lot 30 min. later by charging $1000 to my credit card. Okay, I was driving to go get my check book to write a check for $19K US, but still pretty funny. Too damn easy.
Anyways, I really like the Xenons and leather. I would definitely pay for them in the future, but it was nice to get them for free. My only regret is having the standard, not sports suspension. A lot of folks even with the stock sports suspension replace it, which I will do....the Bilstein PSS9s are the way to go. I can hardly wait until I get it done.
Glad to hear that you like yours as much as me. They are sharp looking cars. I can't believe the number of strangers that will come up and say what a great looking car. I usually respond by saying, yeah, but let's go for a rideand you'll like it more.

Johhny Ray:
All I got was a $1000 discount and free floormats. The sales manager wouldnt even sign the deal with the $1000 discount until I took 3 hours off work to go flip on him and threaten to take m business elsewhere. He said "the most I can give you is 2%, which is $700". The car cost me slightly over $45,000CDN, and he fought me over $300. Driving it is a lot more fun than buying it was.
