Hm.....If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

I guess they don't include do it yourselfers who buy their OS at retail, huh...
or those of us (like me) whose enterprise license covers home computers too.Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

The benefits of a legal copy to you: peace of mind, world-class technical support, and guaranteed quality.
bWhy do today what you can put off until tomorrow? But why put off until tomorrow what you can put off altogether?

frig, you said it spoogenet! World class tech support? What a joke. I had a 2 month long daily session with thier world class tech support regarding windows Media player and my CD rom. Never was resolved. They just said that it couldnt be fixed and that they were sorry.
Guaranteed quality? Well first you have to have quality to guarantee it :P Or do they mean that the quality is guaranteed to get worse as the numbers get higher?? Hehe. O I guess its not that bad really. Could be better tho...AMD XP2100+, 512megs DDR333, ATI Radeon 8500, some other stuff.

OK, I just went to the site and did thier little "test" Well, I guess I got screwed when I went and bought my copy of ME(no, not because ME is bloatware or whatever, try to stay on topic here people ) because according to the test I don't have a legal copy.
Of course I do know where to find my certificate of authenticity, but ALOT of people who don't have the sticker stuck on thier case somewhere will think that they have a pirated copy. After all a big company like Microsoft must be right, especially when it is on the internet.
Just had a thought. Go with me here for a min. Ok. People don't like the whole hardware signature thing with the latest ver of windows(XP). But microsoft keeps saying that it will help stop piracy. So, if they can scare enough people into thinking that piracy is rampant, they will have an easier time convincing the masses that thier little scheme it a good thing. Also, each time someone logs into that site, microsoft is gathering info on what people percieve about thier copies legitimacy. By making it nearly impossible to pass(who acutally sticks the certificate on thier computer's chassis)the little test, they have HUGE numbers of people out there who seem to have pirated copies of Windows. These stats would probably do them great benefit in a fight to keep XP's hardware test alive and well. Also they will get alot of people that will actually contact the local autorities. There is actually a link there to do so. Then there will be two huge, very legitimate sources out there stating that the new XP anti-piracy thing is great, and should be universally adopted.
again, just a late-night thought. Maybe I watch to much X-files. maybe not.
Whaddya all think??AMD XP2100+, 512megs DDR333, ATI Radeon 8500, some other stuff.
