Well, I don't really like banners, but I'd rather have banners on MURC than no MURC at all ! If this is what is needed to keep MURC (and to help Ant save money), then so be it...

The idea of sponsorship is good, but I fear that it will seriously limit the number of visitors that don't know about the MURC (the occasional visitors, potential members). I visited the site quite frequently before I signed up... It might put people of to get to know the users.
