looks like my pictures are the proof for Wombat's expertise, since my hypothenuse is perfectly straight and thus does not exactly match coordinate (8,3) and therefore in Ali's picture it isn't even a hypothenuse, but rather a line with a little kink at (8,3).

In other words, use your trig to prove that the triangle is not true, you can look at the two triangles in the pick that make up the big triangle, and can see that using sine, cosine, and tangent, the angles are clearly different, and you can see that neither one contains the same angle as the large triangle, which they should since it is supposed to be a right triangle.
