  • "Bragging Rights" or "How Phat Is Your Rig ?"

    Hi Guys,

recently I had the honor to get my working rig updated and now I run an indeed nice system ...
    • Tyan Tiger MP
    • 2x Athlon MP 1800+
    • 4x 512MB PC2100 DDR
    • G450 32MB DDR DH
    • 2x Eye-Q 777 (22") CRT @ 1600x1200x32bpp each

the rest of it ain't bad too, but nothing spectacular and thus I'll leave at this.

Anybody else daring to brag about her/his system ?

"How Phat is your rig?" sounds alot like my thread, "How fat is your computer?" Check my sig, I think it is pretty sweet for what I do, and at least where I am I can have some good bragging rights.

            Nice rigs ...

and keep in mind that this ain't my private rig and surely I didn't want to dismiss anybody's setup but rather share the joy it is to run such a baby.

Imagine wanting to backup your brand new and fresh DVD "Twelve Monkeys" ...

Xmpeg 4.2 with Miha's Fast iDCT
            picture size 720x576 PAL 25fps
Besselham scaling to convert aspect ratio to 1:1 for VGA playback
            crop to 704x384
            DivX4.12 2-pass VBR (6000/1536)
            Fraunhofer MP3 192kbit/s 48kHz stereo

grabbing it directly form DVD, this hovers between 32 and 24 fps in both passes, depending on actual screen contents !

Bad thing now is I can't really do anything else to it , except maybe upgrade to a XP processor..which at this point is slightly pointless unless they come out with a non PR Rated 2 Ghz Chip then I would be interested. More Memory would be nice but dont see that happing till I can get another 512MB of registered DDR RAM for less then $100 or so.

not as hot as some of your systems, but it does have a pretty decent video card and adequate memory. Oh, and the BX chipset rules, hehe
AMD XP2100+, 512megs DDR333, ATI Radeon 8500, some other stuff.

You are correct sir. This is the first ML570 I have had my hands one. The other Compaq servers we have are Proliant 3000s. This is a nice upgrade.

                              - Turtle Beach Santa Cruz
                              - IBM 60GXP 20GB HD (system drive)
