That was funny. There's another snipped, from "Knights of the Dinner Table", which I will likely misremember but attempt to post here for posterity' sake:
TOP TEN REASONS WHY LOTR WOULD _NOT_ MAKE A GOOD ROLEPLAYING CAMPAIGN:
10. No clerics in party.
9. Party composed almost exclusively of level 1 halflings.
8. They left the only experienced halfling thief at home.
7. Failed to kill evil NPC "Gollum" early in the adventure.
6. Then allowed said NPC to complete the objective of the quest!
5. Gave most powerful weapon (+3 longsword) to magic user.
4. Then sent magic user into single melee combat with a type-6 demon.
3. Magic user dies having only cast two spells - "make light" and "hold portal".
2. Allowed two of the halflings to be captured by orcs, losing the party's only paladin in the process. Spent half the adventure chasing orcs.
and the number one reason why LOTR would make a lousy RPG campaign:
1. A third of the way through the quest, they split the party. NEVER SPLIT THE PARTY!

The Internet - where men are men, women are men, and teenage girls are FBI agents!
I'm the least you could do
If only life were as easy as you
I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
I would still get screwed
But we could argue this all day. His physical body quite certainly dies, and he passes beyond the bounds of Arda where Eru sends him back.
So, technically, did he die? Yes, indeedy.
