Come to think about it, the MURC front page looks a little boring 2 me...
Sure, it's very utilitarian and all that but it is a bit too plain for my taste. Still, I'm sure Ant has to consider bandwidth and loading times, so who am I to judge. The only thing that I think is truly strange about the front page are the topmost links. You know, the ones that when pressed take you lower on the page, and there in the right-hand pane you'll find what you are looking for (if you are smart enough to look there).
If I press the "Forums" button, I expect to be taken to the forums and not lower on the same page. But of course it's a bit trickier with the files and all that. If one made separate pages for them all there would be a lot of work and wasted bandwidth.
