Yeah I was a little frustrated, but it doesn't matter anymore, that's why I deleted my post.

I think I know the answer to that. Hockey just IS. Therefore cannot be "owned" by any individual. You can temporarily own a moment of it like the Canadians did, but I don't think any mere individual can completely own hockey.

I think this thread was intended more for fun and not to take the ownership of a sport literally. If anyone is going to own a sport, it's the paying public. Anyhooo, why are you so frustrated? You guys got gold.

At least someone understands this thread. I never intended for anyone to think that we own the sport but rather own the bragging rights, for now. Loosen up the short straps people, your taking this too seriously

I always thought so that is until I stumbled into a curling rink in a drunken stupor and asked someone "what the hell are you guys yelling about" I was given a lecture concering the finer points of the game. Have you heard those curlers yell?

i actually watched part of the gold medal game in curling.. part of it.. (takes them forever to play the thing.) The commentator was saying there were 1.5 million curlers in the world and 1.2 million of them were in Canada. They estimated Norway only had 200 curlers total. Hmm.. who won that gold medal match?

Cmon, Canada.. you're not gonna wait 50 years to win that one again, are you?

Last stone thrown for Canada ( Shot rock ) was 2ft off the button, that's what lost it for them. Holy crap, I now know curling lingo, I wonder if that makes me a true Canadian?

Actually, we didn't just win gold in hockey, we did it twice. That's right ladies and gentlemen. 4 nights apart gold for the women, then gold for the men. 2 golds in less than a week.

That's bragging right in my book, eh Tiny?

As for Curling. Who really cares about curling. Let the Nordics have the gold.
