Not the vote. They plan on contesting the Constitutionality of the law. In some ways I can see where they're coming from, saying that it's a restriction on speech. You do not have to know how to administer anything to use word & e-mail in a 9x box.
It just isn't that simple in Linux.
And until they get rid of -single in linux, your computer needs to be in a vault to be any more secure than 9x, let alone Nt, 2K or XP.

The other day I wanted to know how far it was from OKC to Seattle.
So, I slipped in an old MS Trip Planner CD, it auto installed & off I went.
Even if I could find such software for Linux, I wouldn't know how to get it installed so both my wife & I could both use it.
People just souldn't need to be network admin types to install and run apps on thier home PC.
Unless thing have changed recently, the Linux kernel can be started with the "-single " commandline switch and it's about as secure as DOS 3.3Originally posted by Technoid

Most distributions allow you to change command lines on boot. So, if someone can get to the reset switch and the keyboard, no files in the box are secure.Chuck

If you can physically get to <I>ANY</I> machine, then it isn't secure, regardless of operating system.
But, you can do things like use a boot loader that doesn't allow -single.
