Dunno where to start... we Germans had too many monks brewing beer in their free time

In case of german beer you just have to try Ducksteiner (a black beer) and Andechs (also a black, famous for havin brought many germans on their knees) !!

For anyone intersted: there is a beerclub in germany, where you get a crate of different (!) beers every month!
Only downside is the page is only in german

Anyway, I love Kriek and Kilkenny!

I am living in a vast beer wasteland.

Pennsylvania blue laws require that you may buy beer in one of two places - at a beer distributor (cases and kegs) or at a restaurant (6-packs).

The problem, of course, is that you have to find an awfully nice restaurant before you can buy nice beer. I have yet to find anything better than Sam Adams Lager without crossing into Jersey.

      Yegads.

And of course if I buy a case of something good, odds on it'll be skunked.

Remind me never to move to PA.

        Ok, my favorite beers:

        1. Pabst Blue Ribbon
        2. Natural Light
        3. Red Dog
        4. need I say more?

Just kidding....a more real list would be like this, in no particular order

Hoegaarden (and all other Belgian beers I've tried so far), Fat Tire, Sierra Nevada Pale, Guiness, crap, there's some others but I can't remember their names.....oh well.

Fat Tire is made just a few blocks from me. The brewery guys there are really cool. Somehow, Fat Tire is my least favorite of what they put out though. It's not bad, but everything else is sooo good.

And Coopersmith's Irish Stout is great stuff. It makes Guinness look translucent in comparison. But Coop's doesn't bottle any of their stuff. Oh well, guess I'll just have to go get some good food and play some pool.

Fitz's is good stuff. I used to live a block from the restaurant/bottling. They changed management about 2 years ago though, and the food went from really good to awful. Still, you can't beat a good root beer milkshake.

You're right about the food, and it's still horrible! They have a restaurant/bottler in KC now. Whenever I'm in the area I get a root beer float and a case to bring home. I don't know how many flavors they had last you went, but they have a ton now, all very good. Orange, grape, Hip-hop pop (kind of a Dr. Pepper'esque drink), KC Cola, Lemon-lime, Creme soda (mmmmm...), Red Cream soda (only in St. Louis) and a couple of diets.
