  • Hollings' bill introduced now..

Anyone else that visits DSLReports and who reads the news on their front page has probably seen this already (if not, go over there- www.dslreports.com and check it out for yourself).

This bill, if passed, will have severe repercussions. For the americans among us, visit http://www.digitalconsumer.org to let your elected officials know how you feel on this issue. I've already done so, and highly recommend anyone else do the same.

I think it might take quite some time for everybody to implicate ONE standard.

If they do introduce 1 standard of "protecting digital content against piracy" and they manage to hack it, won't they be screwed?

My question is why should he f**king care? Isn't it the "entertainment, electronics, and high-tech industries" that stand to lose it they don't have a way to protect their stuff. But then again he may have some holdings somewhere that may stand to gain or lose depending on how this goes. That has to be it because he defintely isn't concerned about the comsumer.

I say let the time expire, let the idiots come up with a single standard, and it WILL be hacked. Then there's only ONE standard to hack, one patch to install.

I'm the least you could do, oh yeah
If only life were as easy as you
          I would still get screwed

My point exactly, except Gurm said it better. (that's what I was trying to get at but couldn't find the words)

That's Michael Eisner, Disney CEO. An alleged provider of content. It's the likes of him that steal the rights to movies, music, etc. from REAL artists and then go before congress and whine about average people robbing him blind. He makes more money than God, yet doesn't think theaters or the people who work for him deserve to make a living.

I wish a few of these guys could do something with Hollings and the others..

Seems like it's more than they deserve.
