I thought the mere idea of marketing a product that lies about "genetically modified organisims" is somewhat odd. Apparently they don't realize that the grapes that are used to make jelly and whatnot have been selectivly breed (which is a primitive form of genetic modification) for a long time.

Also, the "real fruit goodness" part makes me laugh... as if EVIL genetically tweaked fruit aren't real, or fruit, or good.

Here's a clue - organic food sucks. Have you SEEN organic food lately? It looks sick and icky. I would rather have nice, straight, healthy looking carrots than twisted, withered looking "organic" carrots.

And, as mentioned before, we've been doing "genetic engineering" for thousands of years. It's only recently that we've started doing it with test tubes. Cope. Ever eat a clementine? You don't honestly think those are "natural", do ya?

I actually saw "organic" clementines a couple years back. The entire notion cracks me up, since the clementine is a fairly recent invention, a hybrid of a tangerine and a seedless something-or-other, selectively bred to have no seeds, be easy to peel, and always juicy.

Now adays, almost all our food in genetically modified in some way. Finding food that isn't is like finding a needle in a hay stack!

I understand why that can be funny. It's like saying you found a GeForce card that has the graphics quality of a Matrox card! Most of us just turn and laugh at him!

I asked my brother why he bought the stuff in the first place, and it was just because it's the only brand at the store that uses actual fruit juice as a sweetener instead of just corn syrup (it does taste pretty good )

These are the guys would have us stop producing the GenMod rice now being distributed in the 3rd world, which is modified to contain beta carotine. The reason for it: to prevent blindness in children with BC insufficencies, a huge problem in poor nations. It's fast growing, cheap to produce and fixes a huge problem.

They are also the ones who fostered the junk about the Amazon rain forest disappearing faster than it can regenerate, which modern research has shown to be false.

Most of the people driving this panic based stuff have a vested interest; namely their high speaking fees and book sales.
