BTW: one "white powder" (actually bluish-white) that kills 'roaches dead in their tracks is plain-Jane boric acid. Yup...same stuff formerly used in eye washes. Boric acid kill's 'em about 30 seconds after they walk on the powder. It gets absorbed into their feet and poisons them.
If you want to cut back on the odds of 'roaches invading a house you're building or remodeling have the construction guys dump a handfull between all the wall studs just before putting up the drywall.
