    Focus Safety:

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) is an independent, nonprofit scientific and educational organization dedicated to reducing deaths, injuries and property damage from motor vehicle crashes through research and evaluation and through education of consumers, policymakers and safety professionals.

Also a 5 star winner from the goverment in frontal accidents.

Also Gurm....compairing a Volvo 960 to a Neon is assine...the neon at best is a compact car where as Volvo is a mid or full sized car....Mass and weight of vechicle have alot do with safety of Vechicle. I bet your Volvo would be hurting if some moron in a Full sized SUV desided to take you on in accident. Also the next gen small Volvo will be based off the next Gen Focus
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?

I don't have a Stratus. It's a Sebring coupe. Quite a step up from the Horizon I used to drive...so at least I'm going in the right direction

Tell you what. You pick any production car Ford has ever made, and let's run a Volvo 850 T5R up against it.

                  There won't be a contest.

For what it's worth, my OTHER car, a BMW 325is (not exactly a subcompact, but a small coupe) is also eminently safe.

And last but not least, it doesn't matter WHAT you drive into the 960. SUV, small boat... it's all good. Trains are another story, and thus are excluded from this hypothetical crash test.

Nice car, 'xcept for the back, I never liked the back of the focus.
                    Personally I'd get this puppy:

                    or the Peugeot 307:

Admiral - you DO know that the PT Cruiser is a Neon with a different body, right?

                          No, I'm NOT kidding. It's a Neon.

Yep, it's a Neon, but the engine is sorely underpowered with all that extra weight. I rented a PT over a weekend (coincidence), and it was so slow. Also, the blind spots really suck.

Trust me I wish I could but I have a short term Loan that I need to pay back quick , nothing bad like getting my legs broken...

The biggest problem with me and Mustang is:

                              1. My insurance is a major kick in the ass....I was paying $900 bucks every 6 months and that went up to $1100 this past time I had to pay....partly due to my Parents leaving the insurance company that I had...lost my multicar discount. I find paying over $2k a year on a car thats almost 5 yrs old with a Perfect driving record insane. The Focus is the same right now, but I figure when I shop around this summer I won't have a "Red Flag" car when it comes to insurance.

                              2. I needed a car that more practical. The Mustang would be Great as a second car, but as main transportantion..leaves some to desired.

                              3. I personally got bored of the car....I was something I always wanted when I was in the Army and I used to save half my check towards it and was able to pay for it in cash when I got out. I scratched the itch I had and its time to move on.

                              4. Anything else car wise that interested me either would strap me down too much finacanelly or wouldnt be PC to get since my old man works for Ford (and the discounts are great for a Ford product )

                              5. In my years I've found that theirs more important things then a car...like saving for a House to park it in
Why is it called tourist season, if we can't shoot at them?
