seems like your mistaking DMB for someone else. they aren't a commercial band and are rarely played on the radio. secondly, this is the soap box forum and people are allow to say anything they want here. that's the point of a message board, to express one's thoughts and opinions regardless of other people's views. finally, shorty doo-wop is entitled to her opinion as well, so there's no reason to start attacking her for asking whether anyone else likes DMB. you all need to relax.

You're kidding about DMB right? They're all over the radio. <I>Satellite</I> was a cool song, but it's to the point that as soon as I hear the first 3 notes on the radio I have to change the channel, because I just can't take it anymore. That, and the big displays for their stuff when new albums come out.
Anyway, I don't mind her asking if anybody likes DMB. But the shock she seemingly expresses that someone else might not like them, and even go so far as to not respect them as musicians, that's what surprises me.

That's probably how you sounded to the rest of the board. If you're saying "so it's n'sync that floats your boat...figures. " was sarcastic, then I certainly missed that, and I'm sure a lot of other people did as well. Smilies work wonders.

the whole point is that no one should be warned by a moderator for being sarcastic on a message board. if you guys take yourselves so seriously, then why don't you post the rules in every thread to make sure everyone is always nice to each other and keeps their opinions to themselves?

Like I said, we take jokes just fine. However, jokes fail when the teller leaves absolutely no indication that they were joking. The Internet equivalent of tone-of-voice. Learn it and use it.
