  • Boooo Ferrari :(

I was relly disapointed with ferrari today, couldn't believe they have done that. Its not really the drivers fault or Shumachers, theres a guy at the top that has few screws loose. Theres gonna be a lot of talk about it and a lot of questions, i think it shouldn't be allowed that kind of driver manipulations, its a drivers championship.

Did you hear the crowed booing Michael, not good at all, that have never hapened before and it will go down to history books Ferrari made a mistake and its a big one.

Poor Rubens, have to say that its the best year in his life, but i bet its not the way he wants to race and its not thte way the motorace should be.

Yes I heard about this and saw a news paper that said Rubens would be allowed to race. Guess it didn't last long.

I've seen that many people were shocked by what happened today. Hey wake up !!!! This kind of things is as old as motor sports itslef !
Most people are disgusted because Ferrari leads the show or because they don't like Schumarcher. F1 is a big business and I'm not surprised by that kind of things, it hasen't disapeared and it won't, I net it's not the last time we see that !!!

That’s what happens when company gets bigger then the sport itself. All Ferrari did was showed the world what they really are. Michael already had a 21 point lead there was no necessity for that kind of choreography. They are miles ahead in terms of performance and would of won the championship without what happened today, all it did now was disappointed many Ferrari fans.

And Ferrari technical director said that it wasn't a race we told Rubins not to push and we told Michael not to push, we controlled the race.

So wtf all the fans come to see a fixed race ?

If it’s a team race then whats the difference if Rubens wins Michael its 16 points anyway.

This type of behaviour is ok. and as was said before, has been happening many years ago.
If Schumarcher has a lead in points (which he does) it is in the interest of the team and Schumarcher to allow him to win.

In fact the only benefit of having a team mate in F1 is for this reason, allow me to explain...

Each team in F1 has primary and secondary drivers, Mclaren has Hakinan as primary and Coulthard as secondary, Ferrari has Schumarcher as primary and Barrichello as secondary.
Now of coarse Ferrari will concentrate on both drivers, but they always give Schumarcher the better car because he is simply better.
If something happens to him then Ferrari will concentrate on Barrichello to win contructors champion for the season, however if Schumarcher is leading in the points by a good margin, Ferrari will do anything to make him win because it is not only the constructors championship they are after, it's the driver as well.

Like I said this happens all the time

Now I would argue, that if both drivers are leading in the points then the decision will be tougher, becuase Michael would still want the win to break the all time record of winning 5 years straight.

                      Regards,
                      Elie

First Kakkinen is not driving at all this season! Second Maclaren and Williams for example does not have a "first" and "second" driver both drivers are considerd ecual and the teams let the fastest driver win!!!

                        EDIT:

But only as long as they can't win the drivers championchips. I can remember a race where David Coulthard had to let Damon Hill pass to ensure he could stay competitive in the drivers championships. MCLaren up to now have stayed clear of that, OK.

But this game's all about success and the way Ferrari is handling it ensures this success - which is proven.

The point most fail to see is that this decision could be made "BECAUSE" Schumachers big lead in points vs. Barrichello, not "in spite of". If Barrichello had had similar points as Schumacher it really would've been unfair.

The way Ferrari are doing this is much more honest than what most other teams would do in such a situation: Ever thought about the possibility of Rubens having "a slight problem" with his last stop costing him ~5secs? Ferrari have this strategy and they openly confess to having this. At least this way everyone knows who really has won the race, it's just the points that are missing.

That said, I would've handled it different if I had been the one in charge...

I gave up watching Bore-mula One not long after the Murray Walker retired from commentating. He could make watching paint dry sound exciting . Without the vaunted Muddly Talker its just watching a procession of cars that look practically identical apart from paint and logos go round and round and round the track ad nauseum and won usually by the team with the best pit-stop strategy.

I watched the BTCC race at Thruxton instead - now thats entertaining motorsport. Always close, always door to door, always fun.
