sell it on ebay... seriously, some people have a fetish for those things and they will pay big bucks to get them...
Someday, we'll look back on this, laugh nervously and change the subject.

I've still got my Old Acorn Aton, Theory and Practice Manual, from the days when it took 10 minutes to load an operating system on a cassette, I think the atom is still in the shed.
And at work we have c64's bbc's doomsday video disks, aui transcevers - a whole whord of goodies, (or useless junk)
Soome of it was so expensive at the time so it still has an asset value thought is no use to anyone, Now who wants a copy of dos, lotus123 and dbase3 all working from a single 5.25' floppy disk.

Well, i might mention that we have twice the amount of usable junk(stuff that actualy is worth to save) than pure junk

Ouch, that is much worse. Its damned hard to throw stuff away you think you might be able to use again.

                        Sell it to NASA!

I saw an article yesterday on BBC News that NASA are desperately searching for old computers for bits for the Space Shuttles.
Apparently they were designed using 8" disk drives and 8086 chips, which are rather hold to get hard of.

I wouldnt have thought it that hard to upgrade to an x86 compatible CPU, although the power drain of a series of Pentium IV's running away might mean they have to fill the shuttles cargo bay with batteries
                        Athlon XP-64/3200, 1gb PC3200, 512mb Radeon X1950Pro AGP, Dell 2005fwp, Logitech G5, IBM model M.

jeez, I feel for you. I actually have two great laser printers because my friend's boss likes to throw away and replaces something whenever it makes a noise he doesn't recognize

What are the odds of talking to him and putting the rightspin on things to convince him of the junk pile's pure obselescense , then maybe find some schools or something that could use the stuff?
Yes I drive a 13yr old Volkswagen; Yes I'm a dirt poor college student; Yes every tank of gas is more $$ than the value of my car, but it is FUN to drive, so I don't care about your ego or how much your car cost, if you insist on going the exact same speed in the passing lane as the car next to you for 10 minutes, stop being a self righteous ass, move the hell over and just let me by!!!

Noooooo, don't donate old junk to schools. Unless it is at least pentium 2, they seriously don't need it and will probably hate your guts for doing it. Having seen some of the utter crap that is occasionally donated to schools (like Amiga 500's and such, WTF do you do with a single, old Amiga 500 in a school full of networked PC's) you end up hoping nobody donates you your old equipment.

And what is worse, old hardware is far more difficult to support than newer hardware. With old hardware, everything is half broken, has different components, and are in general unreliable and expensive to maintain.

So all you would be doing is costing the school the cost of disposal of all this obsolete equipment.
