Come on now...the originals weren't cheesy:

    Princess: I love you, Han!

    Han: I know.

    [rant]

And what is people's problem thinking Jango Fett and the Clones were Hispanic? The actor is from New Zealand, looks and talks like a Polenesian. And let's face it, Jango Fett was one bad*** d00d! It took a jedi played by Samuel L. Jackson to take him down. And as for the 'evil' clones...hello...they are the ones that saved the jedi. Sheesh

Just read an article at FilmForce.IGN.com that George Lucas is going to mess with the original 3 flicks again. A Special Special Edition so to speak. Rumors say that he is going to 'update' the special effects, yet again, and add some story scenes to make the entire story arch flow together better.

In the same article they said that the DVD release will NOT contain an option (or a sperate DVD) with the original, unedited Star Wars Trilogy. Looks like if you want to see the originals, you'll have to watch it on your old VHS tapes. How sad. I think I need to start a petition...

To be honest, Jammrock, i think that is probably not such a bad idea. I heard we wants to add some flashbacks, that tie episodes 1-3 and 4-6 more together. as long as he doesn't change original footage (more than he already did ).
but when JARJAR appears in any of the flashbacks (i have a strange felling that will be the case) i will never watch them.

                        George Lucas is a ****wit.

If anyone is a master at turning Laserdisc media into a DVD, be informed that I have a copy of the (original, un****edup by GL after he apparently blew his fortune on hard drugs) collector's edition Star Wars/ Empire Strikes Back/ Return of the Jedi on CAV Laserdisc. Unfortunately, the sound is only Pro Logic, but I guess that will have to do. Please reply to this in a private message if you wish to assist me in legally making one copy of this for my private use only.

ah the ewoks. i remember i used to watch an ewok cartoon as a child where all the ewoks played on flutes and where dancin i think there was also one ewok that could do magic tricks but my memory is fuzzy on that.
                          it was great.

                          edit: woohoo!

What a shame that someone who apparently cared enough about film to promote Kurosawa's great ones in this country cares so little for his own works. The original movies were immensely popular. You never heard the kind of criticisms you do with episodes I and II. They were masterpieces of their era. Other artists leave well enough alone when the public has pronounced something a masterpiece, why can't George? I just want an original release version of all three of the first films with the sound remastered into DTS. Is that really too much to ask? Wonder if Lucas was behind the "colorization" wave where they went back and screwed up old black and white movies, too..

Remember "new Coke?" I wonder if Lucas was behind that one as well..

At least Coca Cola had the sense to admit they were wrong for that one.
