Presuming all athletes are daft is also foolish does not one think.
Some are daft others are quiet clever just like any other walk of life. Most people would perpetuate any system as long as it suits them. Hasn't mankind been doing that overall?

Are you saying that all people with relatively low IQ's should be "hunted down, bagged, and deported" or are you saving that venom solely for sportspeople?

        mdhome:

Well, the violent ones (which includes "sportspeople") should DEFINITELY be deported. To their own little island, cut off from the rest of the world.

The just plain' ol' dumb ones should just be tagged, so the rest of us can identify them.

        Pit:

No, it's perfectly reasonable to say "all 'sportspeople' (as mdhome calls 'em) are dumber than dog droppings". It's pretty much true. Ever listen to one of them talk? I keep hearing about how this one or that one is "SMART", and then I hear them talk and it comes out "I iz de mos' edumificated personage in all of professionamable spo-atz!"

Yeah, we should get rid of all those violent people. Might as well start with the people that advocate tranquilizing and deporting an entire demographic.

Ah now thats presuming people with a speech problem are all thick. Just because someone sounds thick it doesn't mean they are.
Of course it could be a American sport thing this. Still I remember a footballer being asked about his goal and it went something like "Well the ball came across from someone dunno who and I just belted it"

Look, I kept hearing how Charles Barkley was "smart". Then I listened to him talk. They said "what do you like to do with your spare time?" and he said "well, I like to read. I just finished Moby Dick, it was really deep." or some shit. I forget whether it was actually Moby Dick or not, but it was something that 7th graders find HORRIBLY difficult, and while the rest of us may think it's compelling, it's hardly challenging material for anyone who has graduated high school.

It's the same EVERY TIME someone tries to point out a "smart" professional athlete to me. I listen to them talk, and they are inevitably asked the SAME FREAKING QUESTIONS, and give the same terrible answers.

Even what they're supposed to be GOOD at - sports... they are dumb about. They are always asked "what is your strategy for tonight?" or "what was your strategy tonight?" and the answer is ALWAYS "well, we're just gonna go out there and play as hard as we can" or "well we tried to block them, but they got some shots by us".

DUH. _I_ know THAT. Tell me something interesting. Tell me something that sports FANS know, even. That the other team is well known this season for being weak in "made up area x", and that you're going to exploit that weakness by focusing on "made up area y". But NO, the answer is always "yeah we ran real fast and that made us better!"

They're a bunch of miscreant lackwits.

Fire up http://www.msn.com sometime. Look at the sports headlines. 8 days out of 10, there's a professional athlete, owner, or franchise (not to mention fans, who commit violent felonies on a DAILY BASIS) that is guilty of some REALLY heinous crime.

                  *sigh* never ****ing mind.
