How fast does that truck of yours go?
    Missed this question earlier.

The truck will do around 40 MPH.

They come completely assembled with the radio. Pretty much all you have to do is add fuel and go.

The T-Max has the most "Hop-Ups" (upgrades) of any other r/c car and is the best selling R/C product EVER. I have changed the motor to one that has twice the power, changed the gear ratio to get more torque, changed the wheels and tires to get more grip. Now mine can do wheelies when I take off (for a 10-11 pound truck that's pretty good).

The most fun is having buddies that have them too. Three of us get together and race and jump. It's a blast. Also when we are all together we can share parts if we need to. Last time we ran, my buddy stripped a gear that I just happened to have in my box. He gave me the $3 the part cost and we got to play some more.

    T-Maxx by Traxxas. They rock.

      That's actually the stock body!

I will be doing a new body for it soon.

I'd love to take that flat four engine (FF-320) and make a scale model Subaru Impreza with it! That would rock!

I want to make an R/C that resemble a real Subaru, but of course that engine would be massive overkill for power! Pop the hood of your Subaru R/C and voilà! A boxer engine!

        ZZZzzz Ok ok I'm dreaming!

Wow! That is a slick looking motor! That would flip even a large RC car onto its back every time you hit the throttle.

I'd use it more for looks than for power obviously! hehe Unless the R/C car was made of heavy steel or something.

                    miniature jet engines?

                    Do they exist?
If there's artificial intelligence, there's bound to be some artificial stupidity.

Yes they do, sort of. They cost like 5000$ but apparently they are powerful.

This is what I'm talking about.

Thanks a bunch again Pneumatic! Now I'm hooked on R/C too. But I'm not goin' for the nitro powered job (even though I seriously considered it), for two main reasons-
                            1) This area seems to suck for hobby stores carrying R/Cs, accessories, and parts. I checked some local listings, and so far the closest I've found the Traxxas trucks is the Milwaukee area (about an hour drive from where I'm at, so not TOO bad, but I couldn't be driving the truck, break a part, and just drop into the store real quick for a fix and go driving some more ).
                            2) I wanna be able to run the truck around the house. I seriously suspect I'm gonna (havta) learn to lightly feather the throttle though, because..

I'm buying one of the Traxxas E-Maxx trucks (electric brother to the T-Maxx you have, shares a ton of parts too, woohoo!). I've already located several hopups to add to my future purchase list too. Ironically enough, one of the ones I want most won't cost me much- I just buy one extra 7.2v battery pack (the E-Maxx uses 2 for 14.4v power) for spare cells, and mod two others by adding 1 cell to each from the extra, making them 8.4v cells. The best part of this mod is that it doesn't void the warranty. (Found that on the Traxxas web site. ). The next item down my list, even ahead of shocks and such, is the full aluminum rollcage I found elsewhere for around a hundred smackers. With my R/C driving skills (I haven't quite defeated the control reversal syndrome thing completely yet), I know that's gonna come in real handy.

I should be placing my order for the truck, battery packs, charger, and some tire glue in the next couple of days.
                            "..so much for subtlety.."

                            System specs:
                            Gainward Ti4600
                            AMD Athlon XP2100+ (o.c. to 1845MHz)
