The chief of police in a city near me mandated that all new recruits must be college educted and soon after there was a huge understaffing of police, so they had to change it back to high school level.

Our police just seem to be understaffed. When they're around, they're fine; but recentley an outdoor clothes shop that is literally less than 50 yards from the front door of the police station was ram raided. You can actually see the windows/door they went through from the police station. Did they catch anyone? Did they heck. There was no one in the police station.

However, when someone decided to drive over the pedestrianised area; (it runs to just infront of the earlier mentioned store) us locals clubbed together to block his way, and then his attempts to reverse out whilst someone fetched the police (there was someone in that time! ). I guess that kind of evens it out really. Just looking through this, I think I live in a really wierd place...

This one will make you laugth. Our local police station has had a problem with cars (police cars) been broken into.

Police are more likely to be ****oles why?

          1) Any normal person doesn't want to get into a fight or into an argument. Since Policing is likely to involve the both it's not a job the nornal person will go for.

          2) Bullies tend to like arguments and fights. Therefore the police is a ideal job to go for. The profffession almost always gaurentees winning an argument or fight and if you fowl up it gets covered up.

Well, he lives around Jaffa (which means the south Tel-Aviv area in Israel) which is around where I live. This area is considered a quite "bad" neighbourhood. Especially for geeks if you know what I mean. Geeks don't feel safe outside, he's propably hiding away till the police is around to make him feel safer.

My x-Brother in law is a policeman and there is no better source than a policeman to know how much the police sucks.

Add to that the fact that I had a curropt policeman neighbour (my x-brother in law confirmed him being a bastard), police sure seems like a bunch of shitheads.
Even if *some* of them aren't, there is a nice story/joke that explains it:

There's an old guy sitting in a port ranting all the time.
So someone walks to him and asks if everything is ok.
The old man then tells his story:
"twenty years I hav been building boats, yet nobody calls me Joe the boat builder.
Twenty years I have been fishing these water yet nobody calls me Joe the fisherman.
Twenty years I have been donating money and food for the poor, yet nobody calls me Joe the philantropist
            .
            .
            .
One time, one lousy single time, just once I have F%@$&d a sheep..."

That joke is much better with lots of alcohol, bad Scottish accents, and a large crowd that joins in on the chorus.
