There is a bill coming up were we will not be able to smoke anywhere basically, no restaurants, no public places or events. Why the hell do us smokers have to suffer?

Not sure where I have heard this before but, putting a smoking section in any public place is like putting a peeing section in a swimmimg pool.

What I can't stand is places that won't enforce their no smoking policies and the people who smoke in them even though there are no ash trays and they are sitting right next to a NO SMOKING sign. Is the addiction that bad that they can't wait til they get outside??? Isn't it bad to realize that something like cigerettes, that have no beneficial value, has that much control over your life? It never ceases to amaze me what the smokers at work will endure to have that, at least half a dozen times a day, fix. I remember one smoker asking the question, after smoking was banned inside, that if they were to get sick because of having to go outside to smoke if that would be considered workmans comp.

I don't smoke in public in genral. I know how much it upsets some people that is why I do it at home mostly. It is sad when smoking takes control of some one, I can smoke a lot in a day then nothing for months then a pack a week then nothing again. I understand what you mean though Joel. I have seen people here hovering outside behind a building in a thunder storm just to have one puff.

I 100% agree with Gurm on this one.

Fenrir: If you say you smoke mostly in your own apartement and try not to annoy others with it then that's ok.

I know some people when they smoke in their cars with their kids they don't even roll down the window! Now how bad is that? UG!

The problem is that regular smokers don't notice, don't know, and don't believe you that you DO notice when someone had a cigarette just an hour ago, or that ONE cigarette makes a HUGE difference over NO cigarettes, or that your clothes smell, or smokers stink from their mouths when they just had a few cigs and then talk to you, and so on. When you are a smoker, you don't notice it. And you really can't believe how MUCH of the world you miss, that you can smell second-hand smoke, or that your taste sense (don't know how to say it) works MUCH better once you quit.

You know what? If smokers keep their "I still won't quit" attitude then they aren't gaining anything at all!!! It's the Tobacco compagnies who are the ONLY winners here. They can even increase the addictive additives so they will continue to make huge profits and if smoker still smoke than they are the ones who are getting screwed in the end.

Az you are correct, but that depends on brand to a lot. Ever meet someone who smoked Rothmans? You don't want to, and that is coming from a smoker. You losse the taste since I think it is 8 a day it kills your taste buds.

ZokesPro I hate that when parents smoke around children, I do not do that at all. Lungs are to sensitive for that exposure, I know first hand, my cousion who is 14 has sleep acne form his mother (damn bitch) smoking since he was 1 min old. I know smoking annoys many people that is why I do not smoke around people unless they are smokers or they do not mind, yes some people do not mind. I however do not want to annoy or harm anyone else who does not want to be around it, that is why home is the main place I do it.

If people want to smoke let them, but do it smartly. (wonder if that came out right)

Never tried Rothman's, always smoked Gauloises, but not much, forunately

Quitting was really easy for me: I said it'd be no problem, mainly to help my gf quit (she smoked way longer than I did, and it gets harder every year, and with every cig more you smoke a day). She dared me, and so i quit. Simple, isn't it?

She quit too, mainly because of the baby. But she is ever so glad she did. She said her taste and nose are MUCH MUCH better now, as is her lung, and she really wouldn't have thought it'd be so. She also never realized how ANNOYING smoke (especially cold smoke) is, till she quit. She can't stand being near smokers now
