IMO the one who raped & killed that 5 y/o girl in California needs to be locked in a garage with her male relatives and a full compliment of power tools

ankle bones bored with drills & hung from the rafters using an engine hoist
skinned then exposed tissues cauterized with a welding torch
slowly dismembered then disembowled

The preliminary DNA came in and matches plus there is a ton of physical evidence, so he's probably toast. Turns out he was acquitted of molesting the 2 daughters of his ex-girlfriend two years ago

Wonder how the jury members in that previous trial feel this weekend?

I worked in emergency medicine for over 25 years and saw this kind of thing routinely for the duration. Very often they'd bring in the bodies of abused children for radiologic exams (CT's of the cranium & neck and radiographs of the rest looking for old/new fractures) before the autopsy.

Kinda hard to go home sane after a day like that, and then there was always tomorrow

well just recently i was editing this documentary about a rape law....

as if rape in it self was not enough of a crime the law states that if the rapist maries the rapee then he would be acquitted of all charges... this law has been around since 1948 and as far as the local mentality goes here ppl believe it is the best solution "to preserve the girls honor" (ie once a girl looses her virginity she becomes without honor and considered a shame to the family regardless if she lost her virginity unwillingly or willingly....of curse the rapee may decline the marriage proposal in spite of all the family pressure not to......

Which brings me to agree with Dr. Mordid that yes there IS room for torture in this age .... and not just for the f!king offender...
