Reason or not using "snigger" is mostly do to the racial discontent/political correctness here in the US.

How funny (sad) it is when people of this persuasion call themselves the same (drop the s) but anything even remotely close to sounding the same by anyone of another color will get you in a heap of trouble in a heart beat.

Some friends of mine and I had a chat about this once day and the consensus was that all African American's should divorce the word.
