  • Tying up lose ends!

I did a major Upgrade in one of our clients Computer.
Changed Mobo, cpu, mem and HS…

Then the client decides to sell the replaced parts privately

So I knew that they would be a pain in the rear for me in some way.
Well you’ll never know when some idiot barges in and claims that the parts are still under warranty

But then Our client tells us to who he sold the parts…..

And today I saw the result I knew would happen sooner that later

He came in with the computer he had mounted the parts in,
The HS was wrongly assembled and both the Mobo and the Cpu was toast

So know I don’t have to worry about those parts

I get a PC a few months back.

"It just stopped working one day. Can you rescue the data and then make it work?"

Ok, the data was easy. Drag 'n' drop, although the hard drive... smells... funny!

Ok, the next problem. The 486Dx4/133 (yeah, they made 'em. in small batches, but they existed), which runs hotter than an Athlon XP on 'roids, had a mega-jumbo heatsink. 'Course said heatsink wasn't attached. At all. It was sitting elsewhere in the case. The top of the chip looked... melty.

And the whole inside of the case smelled... funny. I dunno what the smell was, but I just junked the whole machine.

    I would still get screwed
