  • Lovely Weather!

At the moment it's hammering down with rain so hard, my g/f keeps turning the TV up just to hear it! My back garden has a small path in it which has turned into a pond - looks quite cool actually And car alarms are being set off!

And Thank god for UPSes though!

    <IMG SRC="http://www.steve-cooper.co.uk/dvdforum/ups.jpg">

The dip near the end was a brown out where the TV/Cable TV and lights all went off for a second or two, but I kept on going!

Just had to go to my mum's work - power surge taken out a PC...

Just driving there and back it's like the aftermath in a disaster movie - roads broken, drains lifted out of the road, shops pumping water out. Never had rain like this down here before! Snow, hurricanes and the rest, but never such heavy rain.

I take it you don't ride a motorbike then
When you own your own business you only have to work half a day. You can do anything you want with the other twelve hours.

ah, now I know where our clouds are hiding...

we had some problems with rain here in upper austria on wednesday/thursday - talking about 250 l/m² within 48hours in certain places...

                  Nope, I'm straight, Taz j/k

Sometimes, I like walking in the rain (and at night, and when it rains at night), and I really like being at home or in a car when it's raining - gives me a really comforting feeling of security

I like the sound rain makes, I like the smell after the weather has cleared, I love the sound of thunder (really makes one feel the power of the elements, for lack of a better term). And I hate it when it's hot

I wouldn't like the sort of rain Steve and Wulfman described, though - everything in moderation.

Sorry, didn't want to hijack the thread. I just like rain

You should move to Manchester, (England), then

Move to Bergen in Norway, you won't find more rain anywhere in Europe...

I live in Bielefeld (Germany) - could be considered the England of Germany with regards to rain (but not to fog, which is a shame - I find fog very interesting )

Novdid: Heat is just too exhausting, and makes everything stink. Rain makes lower temps, nice sound, nice smell, interesting reflections in the drops, and gives life. A thunderstorm is just awesome I really feel small in a BIG thunderstorm - a little more part of a great... world

And fog... well, many times fog isn't very interesting, and I think I wouldn't find it interesting at all if every second day was foggy. But it isn't, and fog makes everything... mysterious. The cones of light emitting from cars' headlights, mysterious shapes... I think I like it because it's different, and since you can't use your eyes as much as you're used to, you automatically pay more attention to your other senses

And the night... things smell different at night (really ). They look different, and they feel different. The play of light at night is fascinating, as is the (relative) emptiness of the streets, warehouses, etc.

I think I'll go to bed now *G*
