I haven't figured the second one out yet either. I've only won once, but not quite sure how I did it... I made him go first though.

Seriously? The second game is substantially harder!

I still can't beat the first one more than once after 30 some tries.
*High puts on dunce cap.*
Edit:
OK, beat it five times now, but I do not understand the pattern. The game counters in the same way everytime.Last edited by High_Jumbllama; 18 August 2002, 10:16.

Ok. Who wants to know the pattern for the first one?

Ok, the trick in the first game is to avoid getting stuck with either of the following combos (or, conversely, to stick your opponent with them):
- Any 1, 2, 3 combination.
- 2 rows of 2 or 3 pearls.
Now, taking 2 pearls from the top row, leaving him with a 1,4,5 combo, allows you to ALWAYS stick your opponent with one of these combinations - usually within one turn, always within 2 turns.
The second game is, in my estimation, harder... simply because I haven't found a way to force him into a losing pattern yet.
