You have to go a long way to beat authentic English fish & chips.
Fresh cod, deep fried in crisp batter, served with large cut chips and season with a little salt and malt vinnegar.
For maximum effect, serve in newspaper and eat whilst walking along the seafront on a cool summer night.

Failing that, my mothers homemade turkey lasagne ought to be designated as a class A addictive drug

Fish'n'Chips is borderline - if it wouldn't taste so much like fish, and if vinegar wouldn't make me gag, I'd like it

Fish sticks (are they called that? In german, they're "Fischstäbchen") are a different matter either. They don't taste like fish, and I like everything that's fried

Roast beef, still pink in the middle, from our own field, my mum's Yorkshire puddings, some roast potatoes done just right (crispy, but not too firm), something green and not overboiled, proper gravy and finally some scrummy grainy mustard.

          Mmmmmmmmmmm...can't be beaten.

That sounds completely awesome. I suppose the recipe would be out of the question.

My tastes are rather different - if I was to name the all time fave dish with chilli in it, it would have to be a Thai Green Curry - but only at certain restaurants or cooked by certain people... the layers of flavour just roll around your tongue...mmmmmmm!
