Well, I'm sure Bush has smoked the herb before, and I know his daughters do (hell, if you live in Austin, you smoke or have smoked before) as well. I'm just saying that I would not think that he would take action to legalize it even if he was pushed by Congress because it goes against his campaign against terrorism. So I'm thinking at least 2-5 years. But Canada's move (if it goes through) is promising.

I think its about damn time. Weed is a lot less harmful than booze. The fact that people can be jailed for smoking it is ridiculous. Alcohol should have been criminalized before pot. I'm glad my country seems to be waking up.

I'm not saying alcohol *should* be banned, but my point was that weed is far less dangerous. Alcoholics kill people by driving, beat their spouses and children, and overall wreck themselves and those they love with alarming regularity compared to most pot-heads I know. Granted most typical hard-core pot heads are dumber than dirt, but these are the people that smoke daily. If someone gets drunk daily, they get pretty dumb too.

Ignore the unenlightened Buddman. Most of those people probably have never smoked, and also probably have not given 2 thoughts to drinking and driving at some point in their lives. Most pro-booze people are like that. Most, not all. I work for the RCMP (Canadas federal police for those who don't know), and most of my co-workers get plastered with extreme regularity, and drive to boot. The fact that these people aren't looked down on, but pot smokers ARE, makes me sick. You don't hear of too many pot heads killing a minivan full of people while under the influence. The booze-heads have a monopoly on that kinda thing. Ignore the ignorant, as hard as it might be. They are not worth the effort of arguement.
