and figured to be one of the stars that would have planets similar to ours capable of supporting life we could reach..."Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind." -- Dr. Seuss

'Course we need some mo' betta' propulsion. I mean c'mon - we're still traveling using burnt fuel as propulsion. Not pretty, man.

Umm....uhh... no need to worry, everyone knows that in the year April 5, 2063, Dr. Zefram Cochrane will launch his warp test vessel, named "Phoenix", from an abandoned Titan missile silo in remote Montana and make first contact.RC Agent

What about ion propulsion? Granted it still uses fuel, but no buring needed. Plus you have much longer "burns" for more gentle acceleration.

We need something that modifies the speed of light. I hesitate to call it "warp drive", but something similar. Honestly - we're pretty close, with recent discoveries about the malleability of the speed of light.

Warp consists of warping the distance between 2 objects so that they are closer together so therefore you don't have to travel as far, but you are still going the exact same speed, hence the reason the call it a "warp" drive. Your not going any faster your just warping physical space to make the distance shorter than it really is.
That is the theory behind warp drive anyways.Titanium is the new bling!

It takes a long time to reach a reasonable speed.Titanium is the new bling!
