I'm not sure, but I think it's different from a fan propeller for example, and if I'm perfectly centered (impossible) to the axle, the 'sucking' would be much lower...
anyway, I didn't even jump with a chute yet, maybe I'll first check the para-thing (i'm not sure how it's called in english, it's like a chute, but you use it by running down a high hill, and then glide)...
I figure you would have to be sucked in. Underneath the blades, they are creating enough downward force to lift a couple tons of helicopter. That air has to come from somewhere: the other side of the blades.
