First cassette: the beatles - one of the best of albums (the blue one)
First CD: Aerosmith - greatest hits

I've never purchased a vinyl record, I didn't really get into music until my teen years, when tapes were standard and cds were very new.

GOD! You had to bring this up! The first one bought for me was a ZZ Top album. My first that I bought on my own was Roxette - Joyride, the second a year later was Metallica - Black Album. As you can see I spent a lot of time figuring myself out then.....

First album given to me would have been 'Now thats what I call music 8'. First album I ever bought with my own money was Led Zeppelin IV. First CD I ever bought was 'A little bit of what you fancy' by the Quireboys, at the same time was Mammoth's self titled debut cd. (It was £2.99 and I needed more than 1 cd to test out the CD multiplayer I'd just bought.)

First LP Ever bought was a picture disc of Pink Floyd's "Dark side of the moon". Is nowadays still in use as a watch hanging on the wall over my computers.

Second LP was Spider Murphy Gang "Rock'n Roll Schuah"

I remember buying 3 at once.

                1) Tapestry - Carol King
                2) The Mamas and The Papas - 2nd album & self titled
                3) Donovan - Donovan

                Looking back, I sometimes wonder.

I think my first self-bought album was "Distant Thunder" by Aswad, in glorious vinyl.
