  • What's your all-time favorite arcade game of the 80's??

Seeing the MAME pic of Vanguard put me in a reminiscent mood.

For me, it's a tough decision between Track & Field and PacLand. I'll go with Track & Field, as I was quite often ranked within the top 20 at the arcades.

Another good question would be who still regularly visits arcades. I stopped around the late 80's when the majority of games turned into the fighting/combat type and required a constant flow of quarters.

Spyhunter and Star Wars (Vector Game), my own personal favourites.

Stopped going after 1993. Had plenty of computers to play around with by then.

    J1NG, Qui-Gon J1NG

        Gyruss
        Ghosts'n'Goblins

        (...to be continued...)

Bubble Bobble (Taito), Altered Beast (Sega), Rampage, Gauntlet (Atari), Double Dragon

Then came the more sofisticated stuff like Street Fighter etc.
I spent so much money in the arcades when I was a teenager...

Now with my Dreamcast I'm all happy

Ahhh, Gauntlet. Yes, I remember a friend's marathon plays of four hours or more on several occasions. I always knew where to find him, and more often than not be asked to fill in so he could go out to smoke a cigarette.

Second best game ever made. My mom and I used to play that game for hours and hours at a time on the original NIntendo. It was #1 on my favorites list until '96 or so.

              :Edit: for terrible spelling mistakes.

When you own your own business you only have to work half a day. You can do anything you want with the other twelve hours.

I can't remember the name but the one where you move this claw-like ship in differently shaped well-like 3D thingys and these meanies come at you and you have to, like, zap them to get points

Yes it's me, it's written right there on the left damnit. Now instead of posting self evident crap like that you could try actually helping me by finding out the name of the game I described
