I saw the story about this guy on some crime show on Discovery or A&E a couple months ago...no mention of Al Qaeda (seem like the show was shot pre-9/11), but after all the talking they did about him going into Afghanstain and etc...it came all together for me that it was more then likely that he was part of al Qaeda. They got his ass though.....took a couple years though.

This group had a member that joined the US Army Reserves to get military training before taking off for Afghanistan....but he failed to get in because the war had already started.

Given that most of the victims were members of a minority group, I wouldn't discount the possibility of skinheads or some other neo-nazi goons out on a spree.

When the bomb went off in Oklahoma City, I was the only person in my circle who even suspected "tax protestors" or someone of similar mindset. Everyone else was screaming "Arab terrorists" at the top of their lungs until Mcvey was collared.

These homegrown losers are just as big a threat as al Qaeda, IMHO.

Actually the Oaklahoma City bombing has al Qaeda ties too. Terry Nichols is known to have met with an al Qaeda handler in the Phillipines to get funding for the attack.

They're playing the old "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" act.
