OK we got 2 threads closed yesterday, and with good cause. (Thanks Joel, in this case)

Can we all take a moment to observe the forums rules a bit in a post?

Think about your post, especially political ones. read it twice....

The post should be on the topic, without digs to ANYONE, or cahnging the subject....

I have been as guilty as anyone else in this. I know this and am willing to try to fix it.

A post about the 'uranium' find in Turkey should have stayed just that - Instead it came round again to a long and pointless discussion on the ME question - AGAIN.

A nice post from Dr Mordrid about the US congress declaration was spoiled by a slanging match calling all Europeans and the UN useless. -before it had even got half way down page 2!

come on, folks...

If you get a post you think is going off topic, even with an attack on your beliefs (political, whatever), tell the offender that they are off topic, and suggest a new thread. Dont try to defend or attack another on a different subject.

We have the functionality to do this....

Joel has explained why he looses patience with us. I cant blame him, if we act like children in an adult conversation. I know I have done it myself, I will try harder. Please do the same.

I did have to say that the uranium thread was very nicely behaved till it swung out into ME bashing match with certan people bitching about who first lived in Isreal first etc. Joel deminstrated alot of self control not closing it till it really got ugly..which in all rights he should have done. But I agree...disuccion is a good thing as long as people dont take it too personally.

Hmm maybe I should repost that one thread that lasted a whole hour or two before getting ganked to see if we can talk about it like Adults

i have to say that the MURC is rather civilized, there is no name calling or anything like that here, but sometimes there is still a lot of heat in those discussions

for the discussions to come an advice: you can only have a discussion with someone when you accept that he might be right.
