• Song ... stuck in head! Get it out! Get it out!

On my way into work, I listened both the radio (failed attempt to register for a radio contest involving free living expenses for one year) and whatever CD I had in my car at the time (something by Prodigy today). This is the same as everyone other day this week.

BUT! all morning long I have not been able to get a song out of my head, one that I haven't heard for 4 or 5 days. It's a song off of a children's CD; for those of you with children, it is Veggie Tales - Silly Songs with Larry: The Pirates who Don't Do Anything.

GAH! I don't remember the last time I was walking the long hallway here at work singing/humming/whistling Republica, Prodigy, Juno Reactor, etc. At this point, even a Rush song would be better. On second thought, Rush might be worse.

Anyone else had this problem, and for God's sake, how did you get them out of your head?!?!?
Buckaroo, the President's on line 1, calling about is everything okay with the alien space bomb and Planet Ten, or should we just go ahead and destroy Russia?

Tell him yes on one and no on two.

Which was yes? The destroy Russia, or the, uh, number two?

I usually listen to the song a few times and the issue goes away until the next one gets stuck..
Better to let one think you are a fool, than speak and prove it

If you bang your head on a hard enough surface the song should get knocked out, and by then you can step on it to prevent it from leaping back in your head!

Here's my trick:

Sing Amazing Grace, but do it to the tune from the opening of Gilligan's Island. For some reason that usually beats out any song you have stuck in your head, but it doesn't hang around to be annoying itself.

...just don't tell this to the advertising jingle people!!!

If you do, you and everybody else is gonna get it in a spot on TV and the radio. You will be responsible for suicides, headaches, insomnia. Don't do it!
How can you possibly take anything seriously?
Who cares?

hehe, i always just cranked something loud in my car and sang along...

you could always start singing the song stuck in your head as loud as you can and see if they will let you go home from work early
