There was a situation once where Libertarianism was the way things were. Robber barons took to the highways and stole whatever they could from merchants on their way to the towns. That's how things are today in a very broad sense. We seem to have this opinion that the pursuit of money is all for the good, no matter what. Even now that the SEC is investigating the greedy CEOs who ripped off the little guy, this opinion remains fast. Are you people on crack? The government should be there to protect the common good, that is, to deny microsoft and disney access to your balls so that they might sqeeze them at their convenience to pad their purses. Greed has proven to be a poor and negative motivator leading only to evil. There is no such thing as "economic self government."

Similarly, there is no such thing as "personal self-government" if there are more than one of you in this world. People need to strike a balance between individual self interest and communal needs. We as humans cannot exist well as individuals only, nor can we exist well as cogs in a machine. We are each of us individuals and each members of a whole. We need the benefits of our individuality, so we must contribute to the whole.. we need the benefits of a society of extended family, so we must grant each member of that family his or her individuality. Without this balance.. there is the true tyrrany.
