  • I just can't understand some people

Got home on Sunday to be greeted by a lovely whole where my passenger car window should be bastards...

They took NOTHING, but they looked every where. All the doors and the boot had been opened. The seats had been moved. They had even lifted the carpet in the boot... wtf.

Nothing was on display. No locks were forced. No attempt was made to steal the vehicle. But this wasn't a 30sec job either.

It has a crook lock and an imobiliser.

Perhaps they were after the font of the stereo... there was certanily nothing else in there...

    I just dont understand...

Oh well, another day wasted and £50 less off...

    I am turning into a real socio-phobe...

I like your second option but you can't go alone, you need a partner of the opposite sex to keep you company!

But yeah, random acts of destruction suck. My car was recently broken into, except they took all my good stuff. And they even went through my sunroof causing more damage and grief than anything else. They could have broken a windows and voila but instead they had to put bumps and scratches all over my roof. It cost 2600$ to repair, luckily with my insurance it came to an even 100$ for me.

All that to say that I know how your feeling.

So who voted for 'burn em all!'?

I just find it so frustrating... I mean there really is no need.
I dont buy this 'well it was your fault sir, you left your wallet on the dash'. I feel violated. The thought of somone routing through my stuff... I cant even begin to imagine how Liz feels...

Still no harm done... You've got to keep smiling

As long as you have backups than it's not too too bad, I pretty much lost 60% of my music collection when my car got broken into. Some cd's I had were hard to come by, and I deleted the mp3's cause I said to myself that I already own the original cd. D'oh!

Still, I am the proud owner of a new plexi-glass window.
Autoglass have to order a window direct from Fiat.

So now, all anyone has to do is to peal the window off, insert arm. Unlock car.

My next car will have a dead lock. Although, i guess i'll just end up with more broken windows

See that's what I hate. No matter what security mesures you take, you can still get your car broken into.

yeah. They'd just try the smaller passenger window. When they realise the door wont unlock, they'd just move onto a bigger window... Perhaps i could electrify the unlocking mechanism... that'd give them a nice suprise!

I wonder where tha law stands on booby-trapping your car

Hehe, I'd have a big Doberman sleeping on the back seat in that case!

It's attack word would be "stereo" or something similar, that way I'd be sure the dog would be nice and angry before the crooks even had a chance!

hehehe.. how about filling the car with carbon dioxide so they faint whenever they enter ...

I want something that will mix electricity, water and a flamethrower!

N'ah see, that a little too extreme for me. At least the dog would recognise me and not attack if I got in the car.

                          true...

Somone attempted to break into our house about this time last year. they smashed one of the back windows, but couldn't open it. I guess our windows dont have central locking.

We live in an area densley populated with students. Now i am not pointing the finger at them, but they do attract a lot of attention. This neighbourhood is actually quite quiet in the summer.

I guess they make good targets... loads of 'em crammed into a house, filled with hardware.....

Yeah but what if your new girlfriend got in the passenger side and said "Hey! nice stereo!"?
