  • What's with Reuters??

Today the Reuters news service saw fit to post a picture of the latest victim laying next to her car.

Doesn't anyone over there have any humanity? Some relative looking for news or following a link could get a very nasty suprise.

And Reuters says that using the term "terrorist" in their stories presents some kind of moral dilemma?

Of course now every station from here to Timbuktu will put that image on TV for our kids to see.....

It's called 'pornography of terror / death'. Get used to that term. It started here with the big murderous suicide bombs in the center of Tel Aviv, continued with the bombing in the Dolphinarium and it isn't going to end any time soon.
There have been many public debates about the big red line between "news", the privacy of the dead / wounded and their families, the right of the public to know and simple disgusting pornography to get higher viewing rates.

But then the BBC is hardly without its critics is it?

(Although I have to say that on a personal level I do like a lot of things that the BBC put out)

There is a history of these sorts of things....

Vietnam has the earliest that I can think of, involving civilians....

Its just getting a bit more graphic, as the bounds of voyeurism broaden.....

Some people want to see this sort of thing, and it sells papers.....
