  • I just..

    went to the movies and saw Red Dragon..

    and i was so thrilled i had to post about it.

    im from Indiana.. we dont have theatres with valet parking..

    not only that. you can order dinner at your seat. and they have these huge red seats that you can put youe feet up in more comfortable then my bed. and you have to be 21 to get in.. so you dont have a lot of snot nosed kids yelling or talking loud during the movie. AND you order alcohol if you want and u can just drink away while u watch the movie..
    wow..

    what an experience.

    that is all

          Not quite as posh as that, but we have something cool like that here in Portland, OR. It's called the Kennedy School, old elementary turned bar/restaurant/movie theatre. Has cool art and old school by the school in the day...not OLD SCHOOL) photos all over the school. Each room has a school based theme (detention, Honor Room, etc.). The theatre is the old cafeteria I think, you can watch a generally second run film for $2, can drink drinks, and order pizzas. It's a blast. Plus, this place brews it's own beers and you can buy them by the keg (cheaper than a crap Miller Lite keg too and waaaaay better)
          Wikipedia and Google.... the needles to my tangent habit.

              There is a very nice Star theater in Southfield, MI.

              Digital projection, in theater restaurants (I love the Volcano Grill) & the whole shebang. Take a look;

              Also on the restaurant list is Crazy Cosmo's (all you can eat pizza), Island Jimmy's, Real Sweets (confections & ice cream) and The Sound Stage concession stand (huge!!).

                No kidding DGhost. I hate it when a movie is only playing at the Carmike.

                  haha, yeah... at least the Carmikes up here are a hell of a lot better than the ones in the Springs...

                  I wish that Colorado had more culture than it does... at least there are more unique (and good!) restraunts up here in Fort Fun

                  edit: urm, i sound like a total fool... of course colorado has culture... its just not in the cities

                              Sounds like lots of value for the money. Up here we pay up to $13.50 for a regular theatre with regular seats (with the latest digital sound system, but not usually with digital projection). Popcorn and pop can nearly double that price. There is one theatre downtown that has so called VIP service (food and drink delivered to you comfy seats, etc), but it's got a very premium price tag too.

                              I don't go out to the theatre much anymore because of their extreme price gouging. Bastards.
                              Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox
