Any info (that has nothing to do with any conspiration theory*) ?
I'm very curious cause I've been reading some stuff about it.
Seems like Hiram (King of Zidon) was a master-mason and that the ancestors of free-masorny have been here since the pre-bible days currently seen as mythology.

Any talk of Free Masonry will bring up conspiracy. Here is the little that I have been told about them. Some of this is third hand, some reasearch, but no one but the Mason's really know how much is truth.

Depending on who you ask, the Free Mason's come from pre-Bible or Bible times. They cliam to be the builders of King Solomon's temple and most of the architecture wonders of the world. One thing is certain though, that they held the secret to building anything big for many, many centuries.

Said secrets were held very closely, and only the highest level and skilled masons would ever be taught the secrets of design. Through their control of construction secrets they raked in serious cash and power. Pretty much every cathedral in Europe was built by the Masons.

Toward the end of the dark ages, the secret to archetecture and building design was leaked in one small pamphlet bring forth the birth of modern construction.

From there the Mason's have kept up a lot of their high level secrets and support each other in their brotherhood. They are still a very powerful organization. That link about the Denver airport has a Mason's symbol on that plaque.

It's been a while since I've read about them, so my knowledge is a little rusty.

One of my Uncles is a free Mason but I've never asked him about it. He tried to talk my father into it but my father didn't want to know.

The only other bit of free Masonry is the hard type that gtes thrown through windows occainsionaly

Umm... excuse me for being rational here (Jammrock and I get off on the wrong foot sometimes when I do that to Mormonism too) but...

IF the FreeMasons built King Solomon's Temple, THEN they are Jews.

IF the FreeMasons are Jews, THEN they would never have been allowed to build the major cathedrals of Europe, since the "Church" at the time was super-duper-anti-semitic.

THEREFORE, 90% of the "information" presented about them is suspect, IF they claim to have done both of those things.

My grandfather was a free mason, and one of the top dogs in our area. I think he was 29th order or greater.

Maybe I am part of the conspiracy after all....

Freemasonry was very prevelent in the US at the beginning, but came into disrepute ~100 years ago when there was a murder coverup involving several lodges in the US and Canada. Basically a high official in a New England lodge was smuggled into Canada in order to evade prosecution.

Now the average age of Freemasons is in the 60's and rising, so it's pretty much going down the drain here.

FYI: my father in laws a Freemason.

I read a book recently called "The Hiram Key", where two Freemasons researched a whole lot of stuff to try and find out if a lot of Masonic lore is real or not. I agree with _some_ of their conclusions, but their research and writing skills leave a lot to be desired.

If nothing else, they do explain most of masonic ritual (except for the stuff they're really not supposed to tell)

Most fraternal organizations in the US seem to be slowly dying off. Every year, the El Zagal Shriners run a float in all the parades locally and they are obviously getting older and fewer, with no fresh young faces in the bunch. I'm amazed they can still squeeze themselves into those little bitty cars.

Same story with the Eagles. A buddy of mine joined up a few years back but I don't know if he's stuck with it.

IF Jesus was a rabbi, THEN he was a Jew. IF Jesus was a Jew, THEN there's no way medieval Christians would worship him, since the "Church" at the time was super-duper-anti-semitic.



The original Freemasons might have been Jews, or maybe they were Egyptians who built the pyramids.. before that they were Atlanteans, and before that they were space aliens who brought their secrets to Earth. I think we can safely say that some Jews are Freemasons but not all Freemasons are Jews.
