Those calls were the most ****ed up calls I've had. Some similar to that but only in french. I came across a gay bordello while doing those surveys, that was freaky!

Here in Colorado, they have initiated a "no call" list law.
Anyone in the state can register on the "no call" list easily at a state run web site, or by phoning in.
Telemarketing companies are now required to obtain the "no call" list from the state, and are not allowed to call those numbers, punishable by BIG time fines if they are caught calling them.
Over 70% of the state residents have signed up on this list.
I was one of the first to sign up.
Since the law went into effect about 4-6 months ago, I have only recieved one telemarketing call, and when I got pissy with the telemarketer calling, saying I was on the "no call" list, they quickly apppologized, and hung up.
Not bad...1 call in 6 months, where I used to get 5-10 calls a week...

Although not as a law, I remember hearing something similar being offered by SWBT here. Too bad I didn't take advantage of it during the free signup, as I get at least 5 calls a day from anonymous "Out of Area" numbers.
          Waiting on tech support...

Or you could just wait until your government spends millions of your tax dollars to fix the problem for you.

A federal DNC list would be great. I was on the CO DNC list from the beginning. It helped a lot. Being on the DNC list stopped people from actually trying to sell stuff to me, but it doesn't stop the war dialers. I finished the whole thing by dropping my land line. Another advantage of the cell phone.
