Everyone who has to travel be careful on the roads.. I have to drive through the traffic stream for the Texas-Texas A&M game today.. fun. Will see you all Sunday if I survive.
Dr. M: What, no pasta? My family's tradition is to always begin the holiday meal with a big bowl of pasta with meatballs and sausage. Then we bring out the turkey, ham, and stuff...

FYI our table will have;
26 lb farm grown tom turkey (no supermarket fare here) injection marinated with a nice Reisling.
10 lb aged ham with pineapple glazing
6 lb smoked salmon
yams (candied and plain)
red potatos (roasted & mashed w/butter & garlic)
green bean casserole (green beans, smoked bacon, cream of mushroom soup, shitake mushrooms and spices baked)
roasted baby carrots
jerusalem artichokes (aka: sunchokes, the tuber of a member of the sunflower family)
corn bread stuffing
cranberries (whole sauce)
sweet potato pie
pumpkin pie
etc. etc.
Yeah...I'm the cook (as usual) and we're hosting a major part of the family

Good grief. Thats about a months food for me. Two if I cut out snacks between meals.
Is there such a thing as a thin American?
Or do you all eat lots of laxatives to get rid of it faster?

This is what you get when you have grown kids. You end up with not only your family but theirs and their mates; with all of them eating like starved horses

btw Doc, got any room for me? Looks like quite the feast
Actually out of all that we didn't have too many leftovers once everyone got their fill. Maybe about 2 lbs of turkey, NO salmon and just enough ham to make some soup.
The stuffing, potatos and other stuff are GONE....
