Colonizing the moon? It's not like it could hold many people. And I find it kind of sad to think that I may be one of the last generations to know what an unmarred moon looks like.
Gigabyte P35-DS3L with a Q6600, 2GB Kingston HyperX (after *3* bad pairs of Crucial Ballistix 1066), Galaxy 8800GT 512MB, SB X-Fi, some drives, and a Dell 2005fpw. Running WinXP.

Colonizing the moon has less to do with how many people it can support than how good of a bootstrap it is to anywhere else in the solar system...

Imagine being able to construct a magnetic lauch system on the moon (mass driver) and having nearly free access to anywhere you wish to go....

This, of course, assumes that you construct your payloads on the moon....

I am at this moment organizing a student movement to ensure a return to the moon. Any interested feel free to PM me...
Let us return to the moon, to stay!!!
