The dickhead manager claims he can't prove what was or wasn't in the box....yet he didn't bother to check the inventory in the computer vs. what's on the shelves?
The entire store should be inventoried, and any items that come out over what they show in inventory should be given to the kids.

They never know what is on the shelf. That would be one heck of a large donation. It would serve them right.

No way man. I worked in a supermarket for years. We knew exactly what was out there, and got a full inventory done 2x a year by outside contractors. Even minor discrepancies had corporate coming down on us.

Well if I fail to put a battery in my watch it is right two times of day but not the rest of the day. They may know two times a year but when I worked there, I constantly saw stuff moved around, stolen, destroyed and just plain lost. They sure don't know the rest of the year.

          Edit:
Supermarkets have a much stronger work ethic. The Mars store next to the Wal-Mart was much more professional and better taken care of. Their floors were far cleaner, etc . . .

Standard Wal-Mart practice. It's about making the moola for the managers and stockholders. Criminal charges are the worst possible way to handle this. Wal-Mart could have just written this person up which still would have sucked. I am very glad I am not still working there.

having worked for Walmart for 6 years, they inventory 1x per year and depending on how close they are actually to what the system says should be there, there can be $$ in it for the entire store if they keep "shrink" down.........

in some stores tho,(24 hour supercenters) the inventory is on shelves long before the office peeps come in and process the inventory log from the truck shipping list, so EVEN IF they did compare inventory to actual, it STILL wouldnt be correct......

as for working off the clock, I refused to (why I was never in management) but ALL department mangers and the assistants were REQUIRED to punch out @40 hours then went back to work off the clock in order to get thier required work done

there was a BIG story on the news recently where Walmart is being sued for labor violations ie: working off clock, and many class action suits for the same thing.....I hope they get clobbered
