    Found this on Slashdot and just had to make sure everyone saw it. Microsoft is getting sued for patent violations with its DRM technologies.

      looks like a little plan by sony and Philips to bust microsoft wider than a wide thing.

      Those guys can REALLY play hard-ball.

      They may well do what those US states couldnt....

        Sony Corp. of America and Royal Philips Electronics get 3 cents for every CD manufactured, plus 3% of the price of every CD player sold.
        That's totally OT (but from the article), but all i can say is:

                Nah, they're not sweating anything. MS has known about these guys for years, and even "leveraged" their work. MS has had plans on how to deal with this, or they wouldn't have proceeded.

                  True, but they probably counted on InterTrust being a small firm that they can hassle around courts like many before... Now that big guys like Sony & Philips came into the game, MS certainly isn't at ease...
