Well I suffer from Asthma but only had one attack. But I do get tightening of chest quite often and also periods where I can't catch my breath. This normally occurs when I'm sleeping or dozing. It used to scare me but now I'm fairly used to it and having these periods where I find hard to catch my breath can last several months and then disappear.
A lot of my family suffer from Migraines, again I don't really but sometimes suffer from slight one sided headaches and numbness on one side of the head. When these go I often then have a period of feeling down.
On my Nephews says he has migraines however when he was a child I had an instant cure for it. Just turned on his favorite computer game and the Migraine disappeared. So in his case I would say it's imaginary. The whole of his family are always sick and at times they take the whole chemist shop around with them.

This reminds me of that movie about this lawyer who has this case of a guy who murders a bishop or sumting and fakes MPD. The kewl thing comes at the end where he "shows" the lawyer it's all a fake, but also that his single one and only personality is not that nice guy type, but that bad guy type

Whoa, easy Doc. I never said that those things don't exist. Just that the real thing is not as common as the imaginary cases. I have a friend who has migraine, and when he has an attack he's out of commission for at least a full day. However, I also know people who, whenever they get a bad headache, they claim to have "a migraine". Pisses me off to no end.

My younger brother was also mis-diagnosed with asthma as a child. My mom didn't believe it (and he'd never had an attack), so she didn't fill the prescription for an inhaler. He hasn't had any symptoms of asthma since, and that was about 15 years ago. Obviously asthma is real, I was just saying that there's a lot of people out there who claim to have it, when they really just have a bit of a chest cold.

So just drop the attitude, and read what people write a little more carefully ok? "Guess I'll have to educate you"... sheesh.
Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. Bastard coated bastards with bastard filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive, bubble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine. -- Dr. Perry Cox

Reminds me of one of our DBAs.
She went to a regular yearly Health & Safety Meeting and at the meeting her heart condition flaired up.
          ie; her heart stopped

Luckiest thing that ever happend to her.
Remember I work for County Government.
The meeting had about 50 participants.
40 of them were Fire Men!
She was getting expert care before she ever hit the ground.
Her doctors had to implant a defibrilator in her in the hospital.
